Find a Therapist
The WMTNA service is open to any trainee Practitioner Psychologist who is on one of the West Midlands training courses until 3 months before they are due to qualify (usually 1st July in their 3rd year of training). They must be working within the NHS (or NHS contracted services). At the present time it is not open to qualified Practitioner Psychologists and/or Assistant Psychologists.
Therapy Network is a register of qualified HCPC registered Practitioner Psychologists across the West Midlands who are willing to act as therapists for other staff employed in NHS Psychology Services across the region and to Clinical Psychology Trainees on the Birmingham, Coventry/Warwick and Staffordshire courses.

The process for finding a therapist is
-
Any potential client contacts therapists from the list below directly to discuss the possibility of undertaking therapy with them
-
All therapists should respond within 7 days
-
If a potential client has made contact with 3 or more therapists and is unable to find a someone who they can work with they can contact WMTNA (via the Contact Us page) directly to ask for assistance. A confidential email with no personal identifying information will be sent to all volunteers asking for a volunteer to offer therapy.
-
Therapists will offer up to a maximum of 36 sessions over a maximum of 9 months, but this will vary with individual therapists and is at their discretion. Information about what each individual therapist offers is in their profile below.
-
There will be no charge for therapy but clients may be asked to pay for room hire where applicable.
-
On commencement of therapy volunteers and clients are encouraged to complete and sign a Contract.
-
Clients will be sent an end of therapy evaluation form which the WMTNA would be very grateful if they would complete and return – all data will be anonymous.
